How to Setup the dotloop to Google Drive Backup and Sync Integration
The dotloop to Google Drive Integration will completely backup all your past work from dotloop to Google Drive and also sync all your new work automatically. Having all your hard work safe and secure can bring incredible peace of mind and make compliance a breeze.
The best part, it’s quick and easy to set up:
1. Add the API Nation integration to dotloop
2. Sign into the apps
3. Launch!
1 Add the API Nation integration to dotloop
- Go to my.apination.com/apps/dotloop
- Find and click the Google Drive logo
- Activate the “Setup Wizard” workflow
2 Sign Into the Apps
- Click “Connect dotloop” and sign into the app
- Approve the permissions so API Nation can secure your data
- Sign into and connect your preferred Google Drive account
- Sign into and connect that same Google Sheets account
3 Configure and Launch!
- Select the Profiles you would like to Sync
- You can optionally choose to specify a date from which the backup should begin syncing (otherwise the backup will start at the beginning of your dotloop account)
- Select the folder you would like the dotloop documents to sync to.
- You can choose to allow the backup to create a folder called “API Nation” and inside a subfolder called “dotloop”
- Hit Subscribe
That’s it! We’ve now connected and begun the backup of all your work in dotloop to Google Drive. Depending on how much data there is, the complete backup could take a while to complete. You can check in, by peeking at your records in Google Drive and watching them grow. Once caught up, the sync takes over, making sure any work and changes you do throughout the day are reflected in your Google Drive version.
Easy as 123! If you have any questions or hiccups we’re here for you.
When I log in with a broker account, will it sync all agents’ loops to my google drive that was linked?
Hi Brian,
It will yes. The Broker has access to all the profiles and can sync docs, contacts and loop details from all the profiles to a single Google Drive Folder.
what happens if i discontinue using dotloop? will i still have my loops archived in my google drive?
Absolutely. As long as you have access to the Google Drive you’ll have access to the Loops.
Will I be able to locate all closed deal contact info for the last two years in one folder with this integration?
Hi Claire,
Great question, yes you will. The integration actually creates folders for each of your loops, but it also creates a google spreadsheet with all your loop “participants” contact info collected in one place.
I have a few question on Google drive sync, do I need to upgrade my Google account in order to sync all my loops? 2nd question, Is this an annual contract? finally, what would happen to my loop if I decided no to keep your service?
Thanks
Hi Trevor,
That’s a great point about the Google Drive. You can turn on the sync and see how it goes, if the Google Drive does fill up, Google will email you to ask you to add more space, the integration will be in a holding pattern until there is more space. So most will start the integration and see if it will fit before upgrading their account.
There are two options for this particular sync, you can grab a monthly subscription or a yearly subscription. The yearly subscription is discounted quite a bit. Either way there is no contract at any point you can tell us you would no longer like the sync and your subscription would end at the end of the current billing cycle.
The data that is moved into the Google drive is moved for good. We’re simply a moving company. Many brokers will leave the integration on, so that they have an ongoing automatic backup of their transaction files for compliance purposes, but if you don’t need it to be ongoing, you can turn the sync off without affecting your access to your google drive files.
Will it sync archived loops all the way back to 2018?
Hi Mike,
Yes, it will sync all loops, archived or un-archived to the beginning of the account.
If you have folders in the loop that are individually archived, you will need to un-archive those in order for them to be synced. But if the archive is at the loop level, the integration will pick it up.
Can you use this sync with a Google Team Drive?
Hi Paul,
That is a great question. The sync will create a folder on your Google Drive, you can name it however you’d like and share that folder with your team. Currently it does not have the ability to create a folder on a shared Google Team Drive however.
How do I switch from syncing my old Dotloop to my new Dotloop without canceling the account? New Company, new dotloop.
Thanks Brenda
